About Me
Hello, I am Kate
In my therapeutic work, I have for many years accompanied people who are experiencing emotional pain, a sense of being lost, and difficulties rooted in their relationships.
I support adults who struggle with anxiety, low mood, trauma, neglect, low self-esteem, and the effects of controlling or abusive relationships — both in childhood and adulthood.
Across these experiences, I often see a shared core: a disrupted or weakened relationship with oneself.
Much of my work involves helping people reconnect with their own needs, boundaries, and inner awareness — especially where these were never safely recognised, supported, or allowed to develop.
This includes working with long-standing patterns such as people-pleasing, self-neglect, difficulty saying no, or feeling responsible for others at the cost of one’s own wellbeing.
I have extensive training and experience in working with neurodivergent adults, including ADHD, autism, PDA, dyslexia, and dyspraxia — both professionally and through lived experience.
I work in a neuro-affirming way, respecting difference rather than trying to normalise or correct it.
I do not tell people how to live or what to change.
Instead, I offer a therapeutic relationship grounded in safety, respect, and understanding — where insight, responsibility, and choice can develop naturally over time.
I have over
twenty years of experience working with people affected by anxiety, depression,
low self-esteem, trauma, neglect, and different forms of abuse — both in
childhood and adulthood.
I trained,
studied, and worked in the UK, where my clinical practice and ethical framework
developed.
My core counselling training was completed to Level 5, followed by specialist
training in counselling children (Level 5) and advanced training in counselling
supervision (Level 6) — a senior and well-established qualification within UK
therapeutic practice.
I am a
registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
(BACP) and work in line with its ethical framework and professional standards.
Alongside my
core qualifications, I have completed extensive specialist training in:
·
trauma
and developmental trauma
·
anxiety
and depression
·
relational
and attachment-based work, including couples therapy
·
domestic
abuse, coercive control, and emotionally abusive relationships
·
neurodiversity,
including ADHD, autism, PDA, dyslexia, and dyspraxia
My work is
informed not only by professional training, but also by long-term clinical
experience with adults from diverse cultural, linguistic, and personal
backgrounds.
